Counting Crops

Quick, help the farmer harvest her crops! In this activity, students practice quickly counting the number of fruits or vegetables on the farm. Limited to numbers 1-10, this activity is perfect for students who are just learning to count.

To play, simply select the numeral that corresponds to the number of fruits or vegetables on the screen. A correct response will make the tractor pick up the fruit. An incorrect response will result in correction. Then, the player can continue with the game.

This activity not only builds number sense and one to one correspondence, but it also builds subitizing skills. This skill helps students quickly assess the number of objects on the field. With lots of practice, students will soon recognize numerals and improve their counting skills. Additionally, students can learn vocabulary related to the names of fruits and vegetables. Invite students to play this game individually, or play it as a small group taking turns to answer.
