Playing Cards

Bring fun to your classroom with these virtual playing cards. Use them for teaching probability, assigning tasks, creating equations, and more.

To use the virtual playing cards, simply drag as many of the 52 cards as you’d like into the playing area. Flip them over by double clicking on them. Shuffle the whole deck by clicking on the trash can button. Draw on the screen with the pencil button and erase with the eraser. The trash can button also erases the screen.

Here are a few ways you can use the virtual playing cards:

  • Teach probability by determining how likely any given card may show up. Or, challenge your students to determine the likelihood of a hearts, spades, clubs, or diamonds card appearing.
  • Assign quantities to face cards. (10 for Jacks, 11 for Queens, etc.) Then, choose 2 or more cards and use them to create an addition or subtraction problem.
  • Choose 2 or more cards and ask students to create a word problem with the quantities that appear on the cards.
  • Designate a symbol (spades, clubs, diamonds, or hearts) for four different tasks students will complete. Then, flip over a card for each student to see which task they need to complete first.
