Pablo Picasso Doodle Art Activity

Explore the work of Spanish artist Pablo Picasso (1881-1973). Considered one of the greatest artists of the 20^th century, Picasso is one of the co-creators of the artistic style of cubism.  An example from his cubist period is included here along with multiple examples from his later work, which consisted of simpler line drawings.  Though these drawings appear child-like at first glance, they demonstrate an ability to capture an idea with just a few lines.  He described his work when he said: “It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.” The most iconic of these included here is his lithograph “Blue Dove,” depicting an internationally recognized symbol for peace.
